The Holidays are approaching fast so to get in the spirit of the season, let's make some cute DIY laminated Christmas ornaments using Destei's free printable artwork. If you love crafts, Christmas and dogs of course, then this project is perfect for you! Click here to see a video of the project on Youtube.
You will need:
- Printer (or your own art)
- Laminator and laminating pouches
- Hole punch
- Ribbon / String
- Decorations of your choice
Create the artwork you want to have on your ornament and cut it into shape. You could draw, print family photos or use decorative craft paper, for example.
You can also download and print Destei's free printables I specifically designed for this project. It's a set of three cute and festive dogs. Each dog looks a bit different from one another and there are presents, candy canes, snowflakes and more in the designs to bring some Holiday cheer.
Each design comes in color and in plain version. Download the lineart version, if you (or your children) wish to color them by yourself and put a personalized spin on them.
Make your ornament last longer by laminating it. If you don't have a laminator, you could use wide clear tape or contact paper to seal the ornament and give it some protection against life's wear and tear. Some stores also sell laminating sheets that do not require the machine itself. Ask more in your local craft store or do a search online for the best option for you.
After you have laminated your ornament, cut the extra lamite off. Remember to leave a 3-5mm border so the laminating seal doesn't open.
Punch a hole for the ribbon and add your embellishements. On my ornament I attached a small bras Christmas bell and a tiny red bow as decorations, but you could also use glitter, stickers or anything else you come up with. Let your creativity fly!
